Privacy Policy
Last Updated: June 21, 2026. This policy outlines how we collect and protect data from users in Spain under General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) standards.
Your Trust Matters: We never sell, lease, or rent customer contact databases or uploaded documents (such as utility bills or quotes) to generic marketing lists. Any data sharing occurs strictly at your request.
1. Personal Information We Collect
We collect information you explicitly submit through our suitability checks, quote reviews, contact, and tariff audit forms, including:
- Contact details (name, email, phone or WhatsApp number).
- Property details (town, postcode, property type, occupancy details).
- Energy information (monthly bill estimates, solar system metrics, battery interest).
- Documents you choose to upload (electricity bills, installer quotes, or roof photos).
2. How We Handle Electricity Bills & Quotes
Electricity bills in Spain contain sensitive data including your name, fiscal address, bank account details (IBANs in some formats), and CUPS code (Universal Supply Point Code).
When you upload a bill or solar quote:
- We use the information exclusively to run sizing, savings, and tariff comparison audits.
- The files are stored securely and are only accessible by authorized staff.
- We will not share copies of these files with any partner installer without your explicit prior confirmation during the matching process.
3. CUPS / SIPS Electricity Data
Where you voluntarily provide your CUPS number (Código Universal del Punto de Suministro) and give explicit consent, Costa Solar Guide and/or weSwitchSpain may use it to retrieve or analyse available electricity supply and consumption information (SIPS data) for the purpose of:
- Solar suitability checks and system sizing guidance.
- Quote review and validation against actual usage patterns.
- Tariff comparison and post-installation electricity bill optimisation.
- Installer introduction, where appropriate and proportionate.
CUPS/SIPS data is used internally only. Raw CUPS or SIPS data (including historical consumption figures) is not shared with partner installers unless necessary, proportionate, and explicitly confirmed with you at the time of introduction.
Providing your CUPS number is always optional. You may withdraw consent for CUPS/SIPS data use at any time by emailing info@costasolarguide.com.
4. Third Party Data Sharing
By agreeing to our suitability check form, you authorize us to introduce your contact details to a vetted partner solar installer covering your municipality in Málaga. Once introduced:
- The partner installer will contact you directly to schedule surveys and issue quotes.
- The partner installer acts as an independent data controller. We encourage you to review their individual privacy policies.
- We log all partner assignments to track the status of your referral.
4. Data Retention and Deletion Rights
Under GDPR, you hold complete control over your data. You may request:
- Access: A copy of all lead logs, referral assignments, or uploaded files we hold.
- Rectification: Correction of incorrect phone numbers, emails, or town details.
- Erasure: Permanent deletion of your customer records, notes, and uploaded documents.
To exercise these rights, please email our data protection desk at info@costasolarguide.com. We process all deletion requests within 10 business days.
Costa Solar Guide is registered in Málaga, Andalusia, Spain. We comply with Spain's LOPDGDD (Ley Orgánica de Protección de Datos y Garantía de los Derechos Digitales) and European Union GDPR regulations.
